SKOOT has a mounting community of climate conscious partners who are helping to pilot the journey to a cleaner greener world by fighting against carbon.
We feel it is important to share what they do in general but also what they are doing to slow climate change as it may motivate you.
We are excited to introduce PrettyGreen and Faye Neighbour.
What is your job title and what do you do within PrettyGreen?
I’m Faye Neighbour, the HR/ office manager for the PrettyGreen Group.
My role sits within HR and operations with a real support focus on people and place. As well as office management responsibilities, I look after the onboarding and welcoming of new recruits into the agency through flexible company benefits packages, policies, working practices, training programmes and of course the day to day support and wellbeing of all staff. Working closely into the Leadership team, I assist across all initiatives to ensure our agency culture is at the heart of the business and our operations.
Who is PrettyGreen?
PrettyGreen Group is a less ordinary, creative communications agency with full Blueprint status and proud to be recognised as one of Campaign’s Best Places to Work.
Founded in 2008, we deliver Less Ordinary PR for leading tech, sport, entertainment, youth and lifestyle brands. We have five specialist teams that make the magic happen; Planning, PR, Studio, Influencer (What They Said) and Experiential (our sister agency The Producers). We believe creative communications are at the heart of marketing.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy the people and purpose side of my job, building relationships and watching staff grow and develop as individuals through our really focussed and inclusive people program is rewarding. Working within and helping to build a culture that is rooted in empathy and kindness is key. No two days are the same and I am continually learning while being lucky enough to form part of an award winning agency with a ‘one team’ approach.
How do you work with SKOOT?
In January 21 PrettyGreen committed to be fully carbon neutral across all business operations by May 22.
We have been working closely with SKOOT from launch in our goal to achieve carbon zero status. SKOOT has assisted via it’s carbon offsetting travel app helping us to offset all our business and staff travel.
Now via SKOOT’s platform, and it’s carbon calculator, we have identified PrettyGreen’s carbon footprint. The online dashboard available also allows us to continually offset any additional carbon emissions as we go.
What else do you do around sustainability?
Heroing the sustainability of creativity, PrettyGreen is a member and proud supporter of Ad Net Zero, the advertising industry response to the climate crisis. Members of Ad Net Zero share a collective, industry-wide goal: to reduce the carbon impact of developing, producing and running advertising to real net zero by the end of 2030.
This commitment has helped us learn, improve and set targets across all our business operations.
PrettyGreen staff attend ANZ working groups plus we have a selected internal ESG action group who have accountabilities for driving change within the business. Internal environmental policies have also been put in place that look at both our operational and event activities.
We are also members of Isla through which staff are trained to facilitate delivery of our environmental objectives. We produce event specific sustainability plans as part of all project deliveries and have allocated budget for sustainable solutions within our organisation.
What does the future look like for you over the coming weeks/months?
We believe our industry is responsible for excessive carbon usage and we have the opportunity to drive change.
PrettyGreen is continually looking at ways to strengthen our commitment to climate action by making even more practical changes to the way we run our business for the better of the planet. PrettyGreen has been taking steps to put the Ad Net Zero action plan into practice and will ensure there is a clear understanding of actions everyone working within the agency needs to take to achieve our goals and our core team will champion this throughout the business. We will measure and report the carbon emissions moving forward to identify areas of biggest climate impact and track progress over time in reducing carbon footprint.
We have much more to do in the race to net zero and I am looking forward to helping in how we actively continue to change our client activations & delivery.
What do you love about SKOOT?
The option to offset more than 100% is great, as you can monitor this depending on current projects/busy periods within the business. The carbon calculator is really simple to use and SKOOT really does all the hard work for you. I would totally recommend to any business trying to currently navigate their way looking at taking immediate action on their sustainability initiatives.
