1. The Peak District

What a place to get the ball rolling – the Peak District. This Central England destination offers some of the best outdoor space and views the country has to offer! Whether you’re into hiking, cycling or long country walks, this is definitely the place to head for a weekend getaway this summer.

2. Norfolk

Tucked away on the east coast, this beautiful destination offers a great mixture of natural scenery, Royal attractions and some great wildlife, such as wild seals and their pups. In Norfolk there’s also a great selection of bars, pubs and restaurants – so if Borris Johnson has opened up the gateways in time for your trip, there are lots of ways to enjoy yourself in Norfolk!

3. North Wales

Coming in at number 3 on the list is North Wales – another great holiday destination for you and the family! The variety of brilliant beaches, mountain scenery and ancient culture is what you can expect here. You’ve also got the walking paradise – Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, so as you can imagine, your trip will be filled to the brim with a mixture of activities!

4. Lake District

One of our favourite places! If you’re a southerner, get your driving shoes on because you’re in for a big ol’ trip, it’ll be worth it! And of course, don’t forget to SKOOT your way there too. A fantastic holiday destination due to the scope of activities on offer, not to mention the absolute beauty of the surrounding area. Whether you want to get away for a long weekend or a 2-week holiday, you’ll never run out of things to do!

5. Jurassic Coast

Some of the most iconic coastal spots in the UK – Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, this south-coast seaside is the place to be when the sun is shining! Not only that, but it’s not called the Jurassic Coast for no reason – it’s a heritage site for prehistoric remains and fossils from the dinosaur age. So get yourself down to Dorset to see some amazing beaches and also the home of the giants from millions of years ago.

6. Scottish Highlands

Remote, scenic and a real treasure of Britain, the highlands offer a wild escape to normality due to the vast countryside. Britains largest national park is home to the legendary Loch Ness and Ben Nevis – expect breathtaking views and lots of time spent outdoors!

If you’re into your driving, while you’re up in Scotland, why not take on the North Coast 500! One of the worlds best driving routes! Usually taking between 5-7 days, this trip is famous for its back-winding roads and landscapes. A road-trip that should be ticked off the bucket list of all driving fans!

7. Cornwall

Surfing, sailing, cliff top walks and boat trips are among the best things to do in Cornwall. The variety of activities you can get up to there is what makes it so amazing. Whether you’re a surfing beginner or a pro on the waves, there’s a spot for you. There’s a great night scene in Cornwall too! A SKOOT favourite for a cheeky summer vacay!

How to Use SKOOT for your holiday destination this summer?

Well, it goes without saying that we probably won’t be flying anywhere this summer. So driving to domestic destinations is what we’ll have to settle for. Staycation it might be, but this country sure offers a mixture of sensational holiday options that aren’t to be missed.

When it comes to the driving logistics, there’s always that one looming discussion that nobody wants to have.  It’s talking petrol money – one of the most awkward conversations to have.

With SKOOT, we take that all away! Simply log your trip into the SKOOT App, plug in your start and finish locations, set the price and drive your way down. When the journey is complete, SKOOT automatically splits the cost between the passengers and pays the driver.

Oh yeah, we nearly forgot (no we didn’t), it’s completely carbon-negative too. We plant a tree for every three rides, making you 110% carbon-negative! So what are you waiting for, download SKOOT using the link below!
